Adopt a Patient

Help protect the fundamental right to healthcare for those living on the margins of the system.

The "Adopt a Patient" programme was born in 2008, when several missions in southern India revealed the need to support people left on the margins of society because they cannot access care — from the simplest to the life-saving.

Barriers to access are economic, geographic and cultural. In many countries across Africa, South America and Asia, healthcare systems are lacking or privatised, with costs so high they prevent most of the population from accessing care, even basic care, from the outset.
