Tik J. is a student at the Lare mission in Ethiopia, near the border with South Sudan. An old wound to his right leg, never fully healed due to a lack of adequate healthcare facilities, made amputation necessary. The Adopt a Patient programme covered the prosthesis, travel and stay in Addis Ababa for his rehabilitation, allowing him to walk again and continue his studies.
